SERVICES

Services

Tiller & Keel is unique in its range of services to help maintain your boat all year round. Whether you have a mechanical or electrical breakdown, require an annual service, need help getting your boat protected for the winter frosts or simply want to keep it clean and ready to sail throughout the seasons, we are here to support you. Our services are detailed below.
When you call we will need your precise location.
We use what3words to pinpoint where you are on the river. what3words is a handy app that has uniquely labelled every 3 metre square area on the surface of the planet!
To get your current what3words location, click the button below. It will open the what3words page in a new window. If using a smartphone, click the arrow (home) and it should show you where you are on the map and the three words we need for your precise location. Please note, sometimes GPS signals go wrong and laptops and some tablets may not be able to find your location. Please check the map to ensure it reflects where you are! If you're happy with it, simply give us the what3words.

Emergency Call-Outs

If you urgently need our help with a mechanical or electrical failure or other emergency, simply call us!
We charge a fixed price of £80 within our prescribed geographical area. You do not have to have Membership with us.
The Call-Out fee includes our first hour of labour. Anything after that is charged at £45 per hour and all materials will be charged. You will need to pay the £80 call-out fee once you have spoken to us and we've agreed the work.
When you call we will need your precise location. Use the blue what3words button above to get your what3words location.
Please note, if you are outside of our boundary, we may still be able to help but will need to charge for extra time and travel @ £45 per hour

Annual Servicing

Getting your boat's engine and gearbox regularly serviced is a must. We charge £190 for a service including travel and time, discounted if you are a Tiller & Keel Member.
If we need to buy parts and return to complete the service, extra charges will apply.
Coming up to the anniversary of your first service, we will contact you to arrange a time for the next service.
If you would like us to service your vessel, please call us first. Once agreed, we'll invoice you and, upon payment, we'll confirm everything in writing.

We can email you a copy of the completed checklist and even photo evidence of our visit!
We charge £50 per visit.
Give us a call and we'll agree dates for our visits. We'll invoice you and, on payment, we'll confirm it all in writing.

Winterisation

If you're moving your boat out of the water onto hard standing for the winter, you will need it Winterised. Our Winterisation service prevents the engine, gearbox and water systems from freezing and causing damage. We will drain all  the water from the systems and run anti-freeze through the mechanics.
Give us a call and we will arrange a date to pop over once the boat is in place. We charge £170 for this service. Once we've talked it through, we'll email you an invoice and, once paid, confirm the arrangements in writing.

Pre-Season Clean-Up

Let's get your boat clean and shiny ready for the start of the season. We'll clean inside the cabin and living quarters and the outside deck too.
Save Money!
If you are a member and you book this service alongside our Holiday Check-Up (above) you will save £20.
